Facts: Laurie Holden holds dual citizenship in both the United States and Canada. She is the daughter of Hollywood character actor Larry Holden and stage and film actress Adrianne Ellis. When she was 5, her parents divorced and her mother married director Michael Anderson. She has a younger brother called Christopher and a half sister.
Laurie then split her time between L.A. and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She received her first film role when she was a young child. While on the set visiting her step-father, director Michael Anderson, a child actress hired to play Rock Hudson's daughter in The Martian Chronicles never made it and Laurie filled in. "All of a sudden, I'm Rock Hudson's daughter."
As a teenager, she won The Look of the Year modeling contest in Toronto. After her freshman year at Montreal's McGill University (as an economics major), she transfered to UCLA and completed her BA in theater arts in 1993. She has studied acting under the late Robert Reed (of Brady Bunch fame). She won her first acting job a week after receiving the "Natalie Wood Acting Award" upon graduating from UCLA. Laurie is perhaps best known for her roles as 'Marita Covarrubias' on "The X-Files" and as 'Mary Travis' on "The Magnificent Seven". Laurie is single and lives in San Fernando, Los Angeles in a one bedroom apartment when not on location.
